Issued: April 6

George School's second annual Art for Relief, a student-organized night of art to raise money for humanitarian efforts, will be held at George School on Saturday, April 14, 2007. The evening will begin with an art show and silent auction at 6:00 p.m. in the George School Meetinghouse and conclude with an array of humanitarian-themed performances at 7:30 p.m. in Walton Center Auditorium. All proceeds from this year's event will go to Free the Children, the largest network in the world of children helping children through education.

The event was organized by a committee of students—seniors Kahan Chandrani, Trisha Hibbs, Nora Minno, and Meredith Zoltick; juniors Liz Arvey and DonChristian Jones; and sophomore Kelsey Yonce—in conjunction with faculty sponsor Rachel Fumia. The art show will feature mixed media work produced and donated by students, faculty, and others. The silent auction will include artwork contributed by local professional artists, along with gift certificates and other items donated by local businesses.
