George School is proud to announce that senior Ruben Davis was selected as a semifinalist in the 2006 National Achievement Scholarship Program based on his performance on the 2004 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). As a semifinalist, Ruben is among approximately 1,600 high school seniors who will have the opportunity to proceed in the competition for about 800 Achievement Scholarship awards that will be given this spring.

More than 130,000 students requested consideration in the 2006 National Achievement Program when they took the 2004 PSAT/NMSQT. Semifinalists, chosen on a regional basis, are the highest-scoring program participants in the states of each region designated by the National Achievement Scholarship Program.

Founded in 1964, the National Achievement Scholarship Program is a privately financed annual academic competition established specifically to honor outstanding Black American high school students.
