George School Announces National Achievement Scholarship Semifinalist

George School is proud to announce that senior Ruben Davis was
selected as a semifinalist in the 2006 National Achievement Scholarship
Program based on his performance on the 2004 Preliminary SAT/National
Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). As a semifinalist,
Ruben is among approximately 1,600 high school seniors who will have
the opportunity to proceed in the competition for about 800 Achievement
Scholarship awards that will be given this spring.
More than 130,000 students requested consideration in the 2006
National Achievement Program when they took the 2004 PSAT/NMSQT.
Semifinalists, chosen on a regional basis, are the highest-scoring
program participants in the states of each region designated by the
National Achievement Scholarship Program.
Founded in 1964, the National Achievement Scholarship Program is a
privately financed annual academic competition established specifically
to honor outstanding Black American high school students.
