Celebrating a Year of "Our Week in Pictures" at George School
Tuesday, July 7, 2009
“Our Week in Pictures,” is a weekly photo gallery that helps parents catch a glimpse of their child’s week on campus, helps prospective students imagine life at George School, and helps alumni reconnect with favorite memories and old friends.
More than eighty different students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends have contributed photos that were published this year. New slideshows were posted for forty-four weeks and included more than one thousand photos. The complete “Our Week In Pictures” archive is located under Campus Life
“Our Week in Pictures is one of the most frequently visited parts of our new website,” explained Ari Betof, Director of Enrollment Management and Strategic Planning. “It is a digital window that shares an authentic view of life on campus because contributions come from members of the community.”
Since the website launch in Fall 2008, website traffic has increased 72 percent and unique visitors have increased 42 percent. The average time on the site is 2:22 minutes, while the general website average is about 30 seconds.
George School’s website is designed to be a digital touchstone. It serves as the school’s primary marketing vehicle, a communication hub with the extended George School community, and an internal resource serving current students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff.
