George School Teachers Celebrate Phillies Victory

George School teachers Laura Kinnel and Tom Hoopes were part of the fans at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday to watch the Philadephia Phillies win the World Series. Carrying a sign that read "Billy Penn: Forgive Our Excesses. Reverse the Curse!!!" Laura and Tom were stopped and interviewed by Atlantic City Press reporter David Weinberg. The article includes a quote from Tom, "We're both real Quakers and I'm not talking about the University of Pennsylvania," Hoopes said with a laugh. "We're the religious kind, but we're proof that at least one or two of us are real Phillies fans." and background information about Laura's commitment to the team. "Kinnel grew up a hard-core Phillies fan in Egg Harbor City. She went to her first game at Veterans Stadium at age 10 in 1976, when her dad, former Richard Stockton College professor Hal Taylor, used to take the whole family to see the guys in the garish, blue polyester uniforms with the red "P" over the heart."
