On June 7, 2006, over sixty GS alums gathered for the launch of the first D.C. Regional Alumni Association at the Sequoia Restaurant in Georgetown.

It was a special evening filled with warm memories of George School and reconnections between old friends and classmates.  The event represented an intergenerational community with classes spanning the years 1941 through 2002.

Alumni Director David Satterthwaite and Major Gifts Officer/Young Alumni Board Liaison Carol Nelson represented George School at the event which was hosted by Anne O’Toole Salinas '88 and Marshall Rorer '90 from the Young Alumni Board.  Aklog Birara '66 was also a host for the event.

David spoke about plans to create a network of regional alumni associations globally for George School.  The initiative is alumni-based in each region, interest specific to the alumni group in that region, and will have the support of the George School alumni relations office.  Anne spoke about the recent Young Alumni Board Challenge for the Annual Fund in support of the school, which involves classes 0-20 years out.

For further information on developing a regional alumni association in your area please contact David by phone (215-579-6578) or by email (
