Art for Relief
An evening of art to raise support for natural disaster relief
Saturday, March 4, 2006

“Art for Relief” is a benefit event organized and run by George School students to raise money and support for natural disaster relief all over the world. The evening will consist of an art show and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. in the George School Meetinghouse followed by a brief arts celebration performance on the Walton Center stage at 7:00 p.m.

Pieces for the art show have been donated by student, faculty and local professional artists in the Newtown area as well as from other states along the East Coast. Items for the silent auction have been donated by stores, businesses, and families in the Newtown-Yardley area. The arts celebration performance consists of song, dance, drama, poetry, music, and other forms of visual art from student, faculty, and local artists. All proceeds from the night will go to Habitat for Humanity, a highly regarded organization building homes for those in need around the world. The students chose this organization to support because of its work not only here in the United States, but also around the world in including Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the sites of the three largest natural disasters in the last 12 months.

We thank you very much for your support and interest in this matter. Please contact Nora Minno via email at if you need additional information.

See for the press release for the event.
